Friends, Food, and Fun.....

(at least that's how the night STARTED out....)

Precious Oliver LOVES to eat!!!!

And eat he did! :0) Poppyseed Chicken was a hit!

The girls played hard, then vegged out to watch a movie!

Oliver....guess what he's doing? Yep...eating some more! He can't get enough (or so he thinks!) His mom tried REALLY hard to talk him out of eating...worrying about a tummy ache.
The guys did a little vegging out, too, after a round in the pasture and through the neighborhood on the 4-wheeler. Betcha can't guess what they are watching????

All in all it was a very fun evening! It's the first time in a long while we've opened our home to company and it felt sooo nice! Just visiting with friends is encouraging in and of itself. So, as I started the post....the night started out good....and it was still going good after everyone had to leave and we had gotten the girls all tucked in.......

The girls both worked very hard memorizing 24 verses and 10 key passages from the Bible. They compete within our church in the first round. If they pass, they move on to the regionals. Now that they have both made it past regionals, they will compete at the state level in Little Rock. They are REALLY excited, as this is the first year they've gotten to compete in Little Rock. The last 2 years the state drill has been at Pea Ridge. This year we'll be traveling and staying overnight....hotels and swimming pools with pizza delivery....every girl's dream, right? LOL State drill is April 26.

Remmy gets caught with her mouth full and YES those 2 plates are BOTH hers! Growing girl?? Whoever said teen boys eat more never saw my Remmy put it away! I'd love to have her metabolism! :0)

We started the day w/ her favorite breakfast in bed....chocolate gravy, biscuits, and bacon. She ate good, but then passed out! Poor baby!


She put on a good game face and tried so hard to be excited! She asked for a big piece of cake...took a bite or two and went to lay down. :0(
Finally, she mustered the energy to come open her gifts. You could tell how hard she was trying to be excited!!!!

You'll notice we have added a new sidebar item. Over the years, my dh and daughters and I have come up with some of our own, unique, "You might be a redneck..." jokes. They were getting to be so numerous that we thought we should start writing them down to keep track. So, we thought we'd share them with all of you! There will be a running list of them that we will add to from time to time. I'll try to send a post when we add new ones..but check the list every now and then, just in case! We mean no harm or disgrace to anyone by any of our little jokes. Most of them, if not all, have developed from our own situations and have given us ways to simply laugh at ourselves. Isn't that what memories are made of? Laughter? LOL I'd like to think so! In fact, we have some pictures to go with some of these jokes, and if they don't involve others, we may post some (this will take me finding them, of course!). For others, we may seek permission to post the pics, or we may just not use it. Like I said, we wouldn't want to disgrace or embarrass anyone. If you have your own redneckism you'd like to share, send it on over! We can post it w/ a notation of who donated it, or leave it anonymous if you like. Got a funny pic of a redneck? Send that one over too! I hope to lighten someone's day who needs it with these, and often that may be my own day! Laughter is the best medicine...I truly believe that!
