Disappointing Your Child

Ugh. This is NOT the fun part of parenting. My oldest, the ballerina, was, for the first time, going to get to attend a very nice ballet summer intensive with the Tulsa Ballet this summer. We have been working on the plans since before February (since that was when auditions were held and I wanted to try to have plans made before letting her get her hopes up). We were hoping she could stay with some family that lives MUCH closer to Tulsa than we do. I just found out that's not going to work out. So, knowing the hesitation that was becoming obvious, I had thought to myself that I would drive her back and forth every day if worse came to worse. One problem with that: who would take care of my dad each day??? There is no other family around and my mom has to work.

I'm not sure I can get a full refund of what we've already paid, (in fact, I'm pretty sure I can only get half) but most importantly, how do I tell my child who has been so looking forward to this for nearly 6 months that it's going to fall through at the last moment? Please pray for answers and/0r her understanding beyond her years.

Thanks,

Jerri

P90X

Well, most of you know that I've been considering this hard core, boot camp style workout system. I've had friends complete it with great success, and some friends are in the process. Everyone I know who has done this has kept a blog through it....ya know, before, during, after pics and how the days go, yada, yada, yada. I'm just not sure I have the courage to post those pics.....they are pretty rough. I'm not even sure I'm going to "officially" start the 90 days tomorrow. I may wait a bit since this week is going to be VERY hectic. I'm also trying to convince the hubby to start with me, but he's just not quite sure yet. Grrr. It's kind of like, "Get on the train or off, but don't hover over the boarding steps!" LOL

Wish me luck?

P.S.

If you have been wondering about my dad, check out the blog I started for keeping up with his progression. Our Journey Simply click the link and it will take you there. There's also always a link on my sidebar here.

Thanks everyone!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone is having a fantastic mother's day!!! This is just a short post to update all on what's been going on in our lives.
The above picture is of an impromptu trip to Eagle Watch Nature Trail with my Dad and my grandma who is visiting from New Mexico. It was last minute because with all the rain we've had, you never know when the sun is going to shine or for how long! ;0)

In an earlier post I told you about the ballerina and roo going to State Bible Drill competition. Well, the ballerina was a state winner and roo was a state winner with a perfect score!!! It was a VERY LONG TRIP down and back since our church people mover broke down 90 miles outside of Little Rock. God provided and cared for us, though.....got us off the interstate and to safety, then, a neighboring church bus was not too far behind us, with plenty of room, so we caught a ride! :0)

Of course, the night before we left for State Bible Drill, the girls had their 4-H Fashion Revue. This was their first time competing, first time sewing a garment, and each have only been sewing less than a year.
This outfit of the ballerina's tied for the prize of the sewing machine (very nice). She and the other girl were recalled for second judging and the other girl got the machine, but WHAT AN HONOR to have scored so well your first year!!!!!!!!!! We are VERY proud of both of them!!!!
And then.....Jr.'s Kindergarten graduation. Bittersweet, as she is my last baby and growing up much, much, much too fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However, we are very proud of her, also!!!!!!!!!

Now we are getting ready for the ballerina's recital and then youth camp, O'Rama competitions, and children's camp. June is gonna be horrendously busy, especially with my hubby's b-day, roo's b-day, my dad's b-day, and hubby's dad's b-day. Whew!

Until next time.....
