Disappointing Your Child

Ugh. This is NOT the fun part of parenting. My oldest, the ballerina, was, for the first time, going to get to attend a very nice ballet summer intensive with the Tulsa Ballet this summer. We have been working on the plans since before February (since that was when auditions were held and I wanted to try to have plans made before letting her get her hopes up). We were hoping she could stay with some family that lives MUCH closer to Tulsa than we do. I just found out that's not going to work out. So, knowing the hesitation that was becoming obvious, I had thought to myself that I would drive her back and forth every day if worse came to worse. One problem with that: who would take care of my dad each day??? There is no other family around and my mom has to work.

I'm not sure I can get a full refund of what we've already paid, (in fact, I'm pretty sure I can only get half) but most importantly, how do I tell my child who has been so looking forward to this for nearly 6 months that it's going to fall through at the last moment? Please pray for answers and/0r her understanding beyond her years.

Thanks,

Jerri

Flubber Fun!

Flubber....what is it, you ask? A mix between yak, rubber, and play-do! :0) The kids love it, and it's not messy at all. Best of all, you get a science experiment out of it, as they make it themselves! Great hours of fun for those afternoons that are just too hot/humid to be outside!

I would like to thank Scribbit for supplying us with such fun! Simply click on her link for the recipe....it's very simple and quick, instant gratification. You will most likely have all of the 4 ingredients in your home! (glue, borax, warm water, food coloring)
Have fun!

BUSY! BUSY!

I'm so sorry it's been so long! Wow, March 22!!! Springtime is here and life is extremely hectic! Soccer, ballet exams, Bible Drill, spring carnivals, WM family day, field trips galore..... The list is never ending, even though we DO pick and choose, knowing we can't possibly do it all! :0)

Anyway...here are a few pics of the girls at the Wal-Mart family fun day this last weekend. They had a blast! I didn't get a lot of pics because I was holding stuffed animals and balloon animals and all thier other prizes, LOL! Jason was helping his dad clear fence, so I didn't have any extra hands.

Ha ha ha! What you don't see in the pic of Remmy throwing the bean bag is that she finally had to stand right in front of the target and throw it at the hole TWICE before it went in! LOL Everyone had a good laugh (with her, not at her). She's sticking to ballet. No "ball" sports for her! :0)

The Rains Came Down & the Forts Went Up!

Rain, Rain Go Away....
^These are logs that we cut for firewood and were in our field. They are about 30ft from where they were...down and up and over a fence and a road!
The road, I mean river, to my parent's house.
This is our road/river. It's cut into so much that you can see the old (orange) road underneath the water. This flows from our pond to our neighbors. There's approximately 100ft. in between the 2 ponds, but a 4 foot drop, then rise over the road and back down.
The 4 foot drop is on the other side of our fence. Swimming anyone?
This is just to show how heavily the water is flowing.
So....we're stuck inside, the kids are beginning to be snippy with each other...
Time to build "Fort City!"
Ahhhh....the tunnels of old!
Betcha can't guess who this is.....
"Funny face, Mommy! Funny face!"
LOL

My voice is hoarse from playing monster tag in Fort City in the dark! LOL
It's been too long!
