More anniversary pics

Well...these are some more pics of the cabin and such. I would load them all, but that would take an eternity! :0)

Our Anniversary

This was the BEAUTIFUL cabin where we spent our anniversary. I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. It makes for a very inexpensive get-a-way. www.domestictranquility.com is their website. They have pictures of all their cabins, inside and out. We stayed in the North Woods cabin. The pictures certainly did not do it justice....it was beyond heavenly! I have more pics, but unfortunately also have dial up, so it takes FOREVER and sometimes many diff. tries to get them loaded. I will try to load some more.
Jason is doing good on quitting smoking. He's only had 2 in the last 24 hours! That's really awesome for him!
Remmy got her bands in her teeth today. Poor thing threw up when they tried to do the putty molding. At least we know she has a good gag reflex! :0)

Help me win $1000 for real!

Ok...this is from the company that I work for when I do demos at Wal-Mart. It is only good until the evening of the 22nd. Please click on this link. If you can't click on it, then copy and paste. I tried that too. That is all you have to do. (I checked it out myself!) Thanks in advance! :0)

Homeschool life on the farm (in the clubhouse, LOL)

Rendi and Snickers with Jasi and Penny in the background. It was a beautiful morning to be outside!

Mud "bread" anyone?

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

Okay...now this is just plain sad. Monday was a very chilly day, but this??? I kept encouraging Jasi to go and play. She had finished her school, but I needed to work with the older girls. After a while of silence (like, 30min or more) I noticed her CD player playing the SAME SONG over and over and over and over..... Nursery Rhyme song, can't remember which one (it's still early morning, come on!). Anyway....I finally couldn't take hearing it play one more time....went to her room, and this is what I found. LITERALLY BORED TO SLEEP! Does anyone else have this problem? A younger child who seems to just sit around and wait all day if necessary for sissy's to be done with their school so they can play? She's 4 and they are 10 and 12....obviously they have a LOT more schoolwork than she does. How can I convince her it's ok to go play by herself?
I'll say one thing, though....she sure is an angel.....WHILE SHE'S SLEEPING, LOL!!! j/k....all my girlies are angels....sometimes they just get so rowdy their halos fall off! ;0)

Help. Need prayer

Okay. I got some horrible news today. Not just one, but BOTH of my older girls need braces. Their mouths are apparently little train wrecks. I never had braces.....my parents never even took me to the dentist, so I had NO IDEA they were sooooo expensive!!!!!! (our insurance does not cover orthodontia) I was prepared to handle one in braces at a time....but 2???? That's a car payment! I really have no idea what we are going to do. We went ahead and set up for the older one to start her treatment, even though the younger one's problems are more severe. (hopefully we haven't scarred her for life!:) ) We will be taking care of her teeth, but are hoping to put it off until we can figure something out or God makes it abundantly clear. We have been recommended for ortho-care on her, b/c her situation is so bad, and so.....if she's selected for that, the cost of everything is like, 1/8th the normal cost. We are praying that God's will is done. I know there are kids out there with a lot worse problems than mine, and I would never want to take from them an opportunity for help. The orthdontist only chooses 9 cases per year for the ortho-care program. I know if she's not selected, God will provide a way. Anyway....it's felt nice to vent and get that off my bogged down shoulders! ;0) Any advice or wisdom is welcome!

plum tuckered out

I have never seen a person fall asleep while holding their own weight with their arms. It takes one tired child to crash out that way! :)

diet and exercise

Okay. I have a question. Is there anyone else out there who can do great at eating healthy and keeping exercise a part of their regular routine for, say, 3 months, and then just fall off the wagon and lose the desire to get back on, even when you know you REALLY need to....not just b/c of looks....health issues, etc. I want so badly to be a good example for my girls. I like healthy foods...have attained a lot of really good recipes in the last year from Denise Austin...but seems they have only so many and then they repeat them. Now I'm simply burned out on even the ones I liked. Exercise has flown out the window. I used to exercise every afternoon once my lunch had settled and school work was done. Now...hmmm......it just seems that there's no time for exercise b/c then I have to shower and completely "re-do" myself (make-up, hair, etc.) for the evening. I have time to exercise....just not clean up! LOL....stinky problem, I know! :-) I am just wondering if anyone out there shares my pain in this. And, if so, how do you deal? I asked hubby for an mp3 player so I could start jogging. He got me one for my bday (3 weeks ago) and I haven't been running once. I did take a short walk after I finally figured out how to use the thing, LOL! :) Also, I'm looking for some good, easy, family pleasing, healthy recipes. (Do they even make anything that fits all those categories???) We are really not big fish eaters (of course, unless it's fresh caught and deep fried...LOL) I have found a few recipes that the fam will eat with fish....salmon and cod mostly. We love chicken, but then again....always trying to find new healthy ways to use it. I've visited the sparkpeople.com site and looked at a few of theirs....it's a lil overwhelming trying to find something. I guess I should just print some off and start trying them out. (scary!) Anyway...any advice or sympathy :) is welcome!

Remmy's 12th B-day!!!

The girls had a blast at the Promenade

Is this not the reaction every parent hopes for as their child opens their b-day presents??? LOL My lil' drama queen! :)
